About this deal

Hey all! We wrote a book. How exciting?! (Some Water Under The Bridge is a debut novel by Kels & Denise Stone. This is a slow burn, contemporary, workplace romantic comedy. It’s book one of the Perks & Benefits series and can be read as a standalone. I really liked the fact that both the protagonists had their own POV’s and that had a good impact on the story. The romance side of Booktok has a reputation for just talking about spice in books and I was worried that this would only be filled with sexual tension and spicy scenes but I was pleasantly surprised to know that this is actually a slow burn and nothing spicy happens until around the 60% mark. Have you ever read a book that was just SOOO good you struggled to form the proper words to express the amount of love you had for it? Avery?” He sprints over to me. “What happened? Are you hurt?” He puts his arm around my shoulders and, in a sudden motion, scoops me up under the knees as though I were weightless like a wise woman once said that's hot

In the uncertain light he read 'Cave. V.B.M.' Chauncey liked a bit of Latin. Cave was Latin for Beware. [...] V.B.M. meant Very Bad Mood. Good old Chauncey, what a pal. Neil unlaced his shoes and took them off and went up the stairs using the extreme side which was less inclined to squeak. (p.57-8.) These were the middle chapters which I kind of hated. Every now and then Kate would start fussing over something so silly and irritating like... Damn! I have HUGE respect for Jude who could handle her efficiently without killing her.Under the Bridge was an insightful and eye-opening story that followed a senseless murder by teenagers who wanted to be gangsters. It looks at everything from all angles and the information comes across clearly. The writing style took some getting used to and the first part which was a ‘gett

I appreciated that this wasn't just their story, but also included self reflection and growth, especially on Avery's part, as she had to figure out what her career goals really were and what success meant to her. Woven with stories of church life at the coalface, this book is a vital call for leaders to allow the contours of their life and leadership to be values-shaped.Hey all! We wrote a book. How exciting?! (Someone pinch us, we still can't believe it.) ☀️ Thank you so much for giving our debut novel a chance! We hope you all fall in love with Luca & Avery as much as we enjoyed writing their special love story. #Luvery #WUTB 🌊🤍🌉 Whilst I did like the residents a lot, I felt that they kind of used Ella's fame and expertise to get the town pool up and running again. Still, the oldies provided some very funny comic relief! Blind and feeling everything, Bob Wall touched the sand with a single hand. His other hand held tight to the rope. Two members of the Dive Unit sank with him, keeping the rope as taut as they possibly could, holding on with both hands, holding tight. Water Under the Bridge shows Lily is one of the best Aussie authors (I have read) when it comes to really nailing characterisation. I LOVE the sound of Chalk Hill as a community and, oh, the joy in that name Honeychurch! Inspired! Intelligent . . . insightful . . . will be remembered for years." —Sarah Weinman, author of The Real Lolita

Ella was hoping to be an Olympic swimmer before something derailed those plans and she's never swum again. Now she is embarking on a real estate career in a small country town. A skilled and emotionally compelling investigation into the dark heart of adolescent society, both in isolation and in the context of our culture. Godfrey . . . combines a storyteller's skills with a journalist's keen eye for detail to create a complex interwoven narrative of the events that is at once intimate and detached… A keen-edged and heart-rending account." I also think it was a bit cringey at parts and the ending was wayyy too much. Like I get that the dude had money to buy anything but all those gifts? Too over the top. And I would've also loved to see Lily and Nico together but maybe they're in the next book, who knows. Apart from spending her days writing, Kels enjoys long hikes and watching cult-classic scary movies.Let me warn you. This book is not like any other book I have ever read. It is written in first person (?) in a stream of consciousness style mostly with thoughts about the other characters. Think use of "you" in place of "I". I don't really know how else to describe it, but it was quite clever and added a layer I wouldn't have thought of. It is told in the alternating POVs of Jude and Kate. These two had each other's numbers, as I imagine only two killers could. I was excited to read this at first and it started strong. Something just missed the mark, unfortunately, because I couldn’t totally connect to the characters. I honestly am so disappointed because the enemies to lovers workplace trope had so much potential and it wasn’t really executed right. It was literally “insta lust/love” from first sight and this book is the perfect example of the “he only bullies/hates you because he likes you omg!!!” trope?/?/?/ Avery got kinda annoying in the middle of the book for some reason. I couldn't get over how she was way too competitive. But I eventually liked her more by the end.
